The heart of Sherwood Forest provides a picturesque and relaxed backdrop as you enjoy your time with us. Just a few minutes walk from the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, Launay’s Restaurant overlooks the very church where Robin Hood and Maid Marian were married. Nestled just off Edwinstowe’s charming high street, Launay’s is not only a great place to enjoy lunch or an outstanding evening meal; it’s the perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine after your day’s sightseeing.

Whatever the season, Launay’s is the perfect place to relax. Enjoy a balmy Summer evening in the tranquility of our new terrace or, as the Winter nights draw in, relax by our cosy log burner in the comfort of our 16th Century cottage.

Serving a seasonal menu fusing traditional English and French cuisine with modern dishes from Europe and beyond, Launay’s has a meal to suit all tastes and appetites. All our dishes are prepared by Head Chef Alain Launay from fresh, locally sourced ingredients from reputable local suppliers. With a comprehensive wine menu to complement our food perfectly, and a stylish, contemporary decor, Launay’s is a true gem among Mansfield Restaurants.

From light meals and lunches to exquisite evening dinners from our A la Carte menu and daily specials, Launay’s serve excellent food throughout the day.

  • One of our absolute favourites for a long family lunch! 😋

We LOVE Launay’s and definitely recommend our guests pay them a visit.

The 16th century cottage just steps away from The Old Chapel is a lovely place to spend both a balmy summer's evening sipping on a spritzer and sharing a platter, and a chilly Sunday afternoon in front of the log burner with a delicious roast and a glass of red from their excellent wine list! 🍷

    See you there! 💚
